Experiment with Light is a Quaker practice which is based on early Friends' discoveries. It was devised in 1996 by Quaker and theologian Rex Ambler following his study of early Friends' writings. Since then a number of different meditations have been developed by various people, and there are now approximately 100 Light Groups that use one or more of these meditations with participants sharing their experience with each other afterwards. Experiment with Light remains a grass-roots movement with very little organisation, and this Web site is an attempt to facilitate communication between groups and individuals as well as to present Experiment with Light to those unfamiliar with it.
